About My Child's Rights
Empowering parents in special education
Our Mission
My Child's Rights exists to help parents feel confident, prepared, and empowered as they navigate IEP meetings and advocate for their children in special education.
What We Do
We provide educational tools and resources that translate complex IEP language into plain language, help parents understand their rights, and prepare effectively for meetings with school teams.
Plain-Language Translation
Turn confusing IEP jargon into clear explanations you can understand and act on.
Meeting Preparation
Get organized with checklists, questions to ask, and key points to track during meetings.
Rights Education
Learn about your rights under IDEA and state laws in clear, accessible language.
Red-Flag Detection
Identify areas in your IEP that may need attention or clarification during your meeting.
Who We Are
My Child's Rights is a product created and operated by CC3PO. We built this platform because we believe every parent deserves to walk into an IEP meeting feeling informed, prepared, and confident.
While we use the .org domain to emphasize our mission of advocacy and accessibility, My Child's Rights is not a nonprofit organization. We are a mission-driven product committed to supporting parents in special education.
Our Values
Parent-Centered
We design every feature with parents in mind. Your time is valuable, and your stress is real. We aim to reduce overwhelm and increase confidence.
Privacy-First
Your child's information is sensitive. We protect your documents with secure storage, encryption, and strict access controls. Only you can see your data.
Educational, Not Legal
We provide educational tools to help you understand IEP language and prepare for meetings. We do not provide legal advice or replace professional advocates and attorneys.
Supportive & Empowering
We use warm, clear, non-judgmental language. We believe in your ability to advocate for your child. You know your child best.
What We're Not
My Child's Rights is an educational platform. We are not:
- A law firm or legal service provider
- A substitute for professional advocacy or legal representation
- A nonprofit organization
- Affiliated with schools, districts, or government agencies
- A source of legal advice or compliance review
For legal advice about your child's IEP or special education rights, consult with a qualified special education attorney or advocate.
The .org Domain
We use the MyChildsRights.org domain to reflect our commitment to accessibility, trust, and advocacy. The .org extension signals that our primary mission is to serve parents, not to maximize profit. While we are not a nonprofit, we are dedicated to making special education more navigable for families.
