Terms and conditions for using My Child's Rights

My Child's Rights is a product created and operated by CC3PO. By using the My Child's Rights platform at MyChildsRights.org, you agree to these Terms of Service.

Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using My Child's Rights, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the platform.

These Terms apply to all users of My Child's Rights, including visitors, registered users, and subscribers.

Description of Service

My Child's Rights provides educational tools and resources to help parents navigate IEP meetings and understand special education rights. Our platform includes:

  • IEP document translation and plain-language summaries
  • Educational resources about special education rights
  • Meeting preparation tools and checklists
  • Document analysis and red-flag detection
  • IEP terms library and glossary

My Child's Rights is an educational platform. It does not provide legal advice, legal representation, or professional advocacy services.

User Accounts

To use certain features, you must create an account. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete information
  • Keep your password secure and confidential
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
  • Be responsible for all activity under your account
  • Use the platform only for lawful purposes

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

Your Content

When you upload IEP documents or other content to My Child's Rights, you retain ownership of that content. However, you grant us a limited license to:

  • Store your documents securely in our system
  • Process your documents using our analysis tools
  • Use AI services to generate summaries and translations
  • Display your content back to you within the platform

We do not share your documents with third parties except as necessary to provide our services (e.g., AI processing) or as required by law.

You can delete your documents at any time, which removes them from our system.

Subscription & Billing

Some features of My Child's Rights may require a paid subscription. By subscribing, you agree to:

  • Pay the subscription fees as displayed at the time of purchase
  • Automatic renewal unless you cancel before the renewal date
  • Billing managed by CC3PO or our payment processor

Subscription fees are non-refundable except as required by law or at our discretion.

Prohibited Uses

You agree not to:

  • Use the platform for any illegal purpose
  • Upload malicious code or attempt to hack the platform
  • Scrape or automated download of content
  • Impersonate others or misrepresent your affiliation
  • Share your account credentials with others
  • Use the platform to harass, abuse, or harm others
  • Violate intellectual property rights

Intellectual Property

All content on My Child's Rights, including text, graphics, logos, software, and design, is owned by CC3PO or our licensors and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.

You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our written permission.

Limitation of Liability

My Child's Rights is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, CC3PO and My Child's Rights are not liable for:

  • Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
  • Loss of data or interruption of service
  • Reliance on information provided by the platform
  • Actions taken based on platform tools or resources
  • Outcomes of IEP meetings or disputes

You use the platform at your own risk. We strongly encourage consulting with qualified professionals for decisions affecting your child's education.

Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or platform notice. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes shall be resolved in accordance with applicable law.
